Mexico’s premier dance company is making a long-awaited visit to El Paso. Ballet Folklórico de México will perform at the Plaza Theatre on Sunday, October 25 at 7pm.
Founded in 1952 by Amalia Hernández, Ballet Folklórico de México has pioneered the traditional art form of Mexican dance. Hernández was driven by passion to tell the story of her native Mexico, from the pre-Colombian civilizations to the early 20th century.
The group has expanded from its original eight members to a 50-piece ensemble that represents Mexico on prestigious stages around the world. Ballet Folklórico de México has earned more than 200 awards and thrilled audiences on almost every continent.
